At the start of the 20th century, a new idea was born. it was a revolutionary idea. an idea about a place where life was so easy, that the pavements were paved in gold. this idea was called the american dream. https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/
the american dream was born because a new was born, the great american nation. america’s economy was rapidly growing, booming, and that attracted people who was looking for the easy way.
but back in those day’s the american dream meant something completely different then what it means today. and yes the american dream still exists, for those of you who haven’t heard of the about green card lottery competition. back in those days the american dream was mostly financial. most countries of the world back then were relatively poor, and it was hard just to make a living. in addition back then ,it was the height of the industrial revolution, and the oil discovey, which made very fast. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/diversity-visa/Diversity-2015-Instructions.html
nowadays the american dream means a completely different thing, it doe’s still exist but it means a completely different thing. now days the american dream is a new concept. now days the people who want to come to america are not just people who are seeking financial advantages, but people who are seeking freedom, individual freedom. people who live and work of countries of dictators and tirans, third world countries.
But the question that we are facing now, is what will be the american dream in the future? and will it be still an “american” dream, or maybe another kind of dream, with a different country.
well its hard to say. it all depends on the future of all humanity, where we will be heading next.
